Consents and permissions

1.1 AI processing consent

Purpose: The transmission of your content to AI providers is itself based on the contract with you. We need your consent for the fact that this content may also contain special categories of personal data — for example information about health, beliefs or sex life — because we cannot separate such information out of notes and chats in advance. What exactly is transmitted, and to whom, is explained in the AI processing consent.

When we ask: when you first start the app, before you use it, and again if the providers or the scope change materially. We only ask for a separate consent for models from countries without an adequate level of data protection at the moment you select such a model.

Withdrawal: in Ai Notes Studio under “Account” → “Plan and usage”, in My Ai in the app’s settings, and at any time also by email to info@klarfold.com.

Consequence of withdrawal: We can no longer provide the app; it shows a notice with the options to give the confirmation again, to sign out or to delete the account. Your content remains stored until you delete it or your account. If, by contrast, you only withdraw the consent for a model from a country without an adequate level of data protection, only that model remains unavailable.

1.2 Crash and diagnostic reports in Ai Notes Studio

Purpose: The app transmits reports created by iOS on crashes and hangs to our server so that we can fix errors. The reports contain no account identifier and no content from your notes.

Default setting: off.

Withdrawal: Turn off the switch in the app’s settings. Reports not yet sent are then deleted.

1.3 Usage analytics in My Ai

Purpose: Using a random installation identifier, the app records which steps are gone through during setup and use so that we can improve the app.

Default setting: off.

Withdrawal: Turn off the switch in the app’s settings.

1.4 Memory in My Ai

Purpose: On the PRO plan, My Ai saves information from your chats to Memory so that answers suit you better.

Default setting: off.

Withdrawal: Turn off the switch in the app’s settings; the saved information is then deleted. Deleting the history also deletes it.

You grant the following permissions in iOS dialogs. You can change them at any time in the iOS Settings under the name of the respective app. Without a permission, only the feature that depends on it is unavailable.

• Notifications: notices, for example when a note has finished processing, an answer is ready or your plan changes.
• Microphone: audio recordings in Ai Notes Studio as well as voice conversations and dictation in My Ai. The app only accesses the microphone while you are using such a feature.
• Speech recognition: live transcription and dictation with Apple’s speech recognition. If your device supports the selected language locally, your speech stays on the device; otherwise Apple processes it on its servers.
• Photos: in Ai Notes Studio, only the photos you select in the photo picker; in My Ai, additionally selecting images for messages and saving generated images and videos to your photo library.
• Camera: in My Ai for taking photos and scanning documents.
• Keyboard with full access: in Ai Notes Studio, only so that the optional keyboard extension can read the texts prepared in the app. The keyboard itself does not establish a network connection and does not store your input.

If you sign in with Apple or Google, you connect your Apple or Google account to our app. You can remove the connection in the settings of your Apple Account under “Sign in with Apple” or in your Google Account under the connections to third-party apps. If you delete your account in our app, we revoke the sign-in with Apple.

We send emails that are necessary for use, such as confirmation codes, notices about the security of your account and replies to your enquiries. We do not send newsletters or bulk advertising by email.

Invitations and gifts in Ai Notes Studio. We invite people we know personally by email. We only give plans as gifts or offer discounts to people who already have an account with us. Such messages may contain advertising; we therefore only send them to people who have given us their address for this purpose or whom we know personally, and always with the option of declining further messages of this kind. A reply to info@klarfold.com is sufficient. We delete invitations that are not accepted after twelve months.

Notifications in My Ai. We provide information about news and offers in My Ai via notifications on the device, not by email; you can turn these off in the iOS Settings.
